🏥 Castration & sterilization
Castration and sterilization in dogs and cats
Benefits, timing and why it matters—also for stray animals.
Castration (female) and sterilization (male) prevent unwanted litters and have health benefits. For stray animals, sterilization is crucial—it reduces overpopulation and suffering. Saved Souls regularly runs sterilization campaigns in Thailand.
❤️ Benefits
- • No unwanted pregnancies—fewer stray animals
- • Lower risk of certain cancers and conditions
- • Less territorial behaviour, less roaming (especially in male cats)
- • Contribution to stray animal population control
⏱️ When?
The ideal age varies by breed and sex. Consult your vet. For cats often around 5–6 months; for dogs it varies. Saved Souls sterilizes animals before adoption.
🌏 Sterilization at Saved Souls
We run sterilization campaigns for stray animals in Khon Kaen and surrounding areas. Every sterilized dog or cat contributes to less overpopulation. Your donation helps fund these campaigns.
