About Saved Souls

Saved Souls Foundation is a registered non-profit animal sanctuary in Khon Kaen, northeastern Thailand. Founded in 2010 by Gabriela Leonhard, we rescue, care for, and rehome dogs and cats—including disabled and paralyzed animals—and run sterilization campaigns for street animals.
We are in Ban Khok Ngam, Ban Fang District, Khon Kaen province, Thailand. The sanctuary sits on 6 rai (about 9,600 m²) of land. Address: 133, Ban Khok Ngam, Ban Fang District, Khon Kaen 40270.

We currently care for around 430 dogs and 91 cats. All receive daily fresh meals, medical care, and love from our team and volunteers.
Yes. We became a registered non-profit on October 9, 2017 (registration number 1/2560) under the name Saved Souls Foundation.

Adoption

Adopt
Browse our adoptable dogs and cats on the website, fill in an adoption inquiry form, and we'll contact you within 48 hours. We arrange home visits and support you through the process. All animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and leash-trained before adoption.
We mainly adopt within Thailand, but international adoptions may be possible depending on the destination country's regulations. Contact us with your location and we'll discuss options.
We may ask a small adoption fee to help cover costs. The exact amount depends on the animal and situation. Contact us for details.
Yes. Many of our disabled dogs—including those in wheelchairs—find loving homes. We provide lifelong support and advice to adopters of special-needs animals.
Yes. We have cats available for adoption. Browse our cat gallery and submit an adoption inquiry for the cat you're interested in.
We offer lifelong support. If you cannot keep your adopted animal, we ask that you contact us so we can help find a solution, including taking the animal back if needed.

Donate & sponsor

You can donate via PayPal on our homepage, bank transfer (Kasikorn Bank Thailand or PostFinance Switzerland), or iDEAL. See our donate section for details.
About 70% goes to direct animal care (food, vet care, medicine), 20% to sterilization campaigns, and 10% to shelter maintenance. We are transparent about how funds are used.
This depends on your country. We are a registered Thai non-profit. Contact your tax advisor for guidance on deductibility in your jurisdiction.
Yes. We welcome donations of food, blankets, medical supplies, and other useful items. Contact us to arrange delivery or drop-off.
Yes. Monthly donations help us plan ahead. Use the donate section on our homepage to set up recurring payments via PayPal or bank transfer.
Sponsorship lets you support a specific dog or cat with a monthly donation. You receive updates and photos of your sponsored animal. See our sponsor page for details.
Choose an animal from our sponsor gallery, set up a monthly donation, and we'll keep you updated on their progress. Sponsorship helps cover food, vet care, and other needs.
Yes. You can sponsor as many animals as you like. Every contribution helps.
You can volunteer at our sanctuary in Khon Kaen. Tasks include walking dogs, feeding, cleaning, and spending time with the animals. Book through our volunteer page or contact us directly.
No. We welcome volunteers of all experience levels. We'll guide you and match you with suitable tasks.
No. We ask for a minimum of 2 weeks. We invest time in you to get you oriented—with the animals, the routines and safety. One day is of no use to us and barely to you. Longer stays are very welcome.

Yes. We specialize in caring for disabled dogs, including those needing wheelchairs. We provide swimming therapy, wheelchairs, and a safe environment for them to thrive.
Swimming therapy helps disabled and paralyzed dogs build strength and mobility. Our pool is used regularly for rehabilitation. Donations help us maintain this vital resource.
Yes. We run sterilization campaigns to prevent unwanted litters and reduce suffering. Donations help fund these campaigns in our area.
Yes. All dogs and cats in our care are vaccinated and receive regular health checks. We follow recommended vaccination schedules.
Yes. We have rescued dogs from the dog meat trade. These survivors receive extra care and time to recover before being considered for adoption.
