Thousands of kilometers from home. Exotic beaches, golden temples, smiling faces. But behind those postcard-perfect images lies a harsh reality that thousands of street dogs face every single day.

These are not statistics. These are lives.
Picture this: a mother dog desperately searching for food in garbage heaps for her puppies. An old dog, once someone's loyal friend, dying alone on the street. Puppies with skin diseases, too weak to bark, too exhausted to fight for their lives anymore.
This is happening. Every day. Right now.
Thailand doesn't have the widespread animal welfare infrastructure we take for granted. Dogs are born on the streets, survive on the streets, and die on the streets - often after a lifetime of pain, hunger, and fear. Without your help, this cycle continues endlessly.
Why Thailand Specifically?
"Why help so far away?" we often hear. Because suffering has no passport. Because compassion knows no borders. And because these dogs literally have no one else.
In Western countries, there are systems, laws, and structures. In Thailand? We ARE that system. We are their only chance.
Distance doesn't make suffering less real. It makes our help even more crucial.
Every Soul is Valuable
We are a private animal shelter located deep in the heart of Thailand. Here, dogs rescued from the illegal dog meat trade, abusive situations, and accidents—as well as other animals—have found a new loving home. Many arrive so traumatised that they have lost all trust in humans.
It may take years of intensive socialisation before these dogs are ready to trust again. But we never give up. Every soul deserves a second chance.
Provide Love & Home
At Saved Souls Foundation, we believe every animal deserves love, care, and a safe place to call home. Our dedicated staff and volunteers ensure our dogs and cats receive the affection and attention they need—from daily walks with as many dogs as possible to bonding time with our cats in our cozy cat shelter.
For our disabled dogs, we provide wheelchairs and access to a large dog park where they can play, explore, and enjoy the fresh air. The other dogs are taken for relaxing walks in the peaceful surroundings of our foundation.
Provide Care
Our on-site veterinarian offers daily medical care, including sterilizations, amputations, and treatment for blood parasites, liver diseases, and other illnesses affecting our rescued animals.
For more complex surgeries or specialised procedures, we take our animals to Khon Kaen University Animal Hospital or other professional veterinary clinics.
Adoption Program
We help dogs find loving homes both locally and across the country. With dedicated care, love, and training, we make sure every dog is leash-trained before joining their new family. We also host adoption events where potential owners can meet their future companions in person.

Dear Followers 💚 I am very pleased to announce to you all that Saved Souls Foundation has a new management. Melanie de Wit will face this great challenge and I am sure that she will succeed. Her calm, thoughtful and determined nature will be a great asset to our foundation. I personally will continue to support Melanie and help where help is needed. My plans for the future are still open, but I will always have animals around me in my life. I thank everyone for your loyalty to our animals and I am sure Melanie will do her job wonderfully. Our Purpose & Future 2026
Our goal? Fewer street animals—more lives saved. Through adoption, we give dogs and cats a home. Here in Thailand. Now.
We give disabled dogs a second chance. After they recover, we help them find loving families. Every adoption is one less soul on the streets.
We are expanding our sterilization projects—the most effective way to stop uncontrolled breeding and prevent further suffering. Together with local authorities, we aim to create lasting change.
Only by working together can we truly transform the lives of street dogs and cats.
For us, every soul is precious. We do everything we can. We are their voice—standing by them, supporting them, showing them they are not alone. We may not save them all. But for every soul we do save, their whole world changes.
